CommBank Rewards Points Text Scam: 'Your Points Are About to Expire'

Fake text messages claim your CommBank rewards points are about to expire and link to a fake website that asks for your banking and card details.
What the scam looks like
Scammers are sending text messages that pretend to be from CommBank. The message says your rewards points are about to expire, often showing a specific points balance to seem real, and urges you to redeem them before a deadline.
A message of this kind might read something like:
CommBank: 48,200 reward points expire tonight. Redeem them now before they are lost.
The link goes to a fake website that asks for your banking or card details.
What to watch out for
- A text you weren’t expecting that includes a link.
- Urgency: points “expiring today” or “tonight”.
- A points balance quoted in the message. Scammers make these up to look convincing.
What to do
- Don’t click the link. Delete the message.
- Check your points only in the CommBank app or by typing commbank.com.au into your browser.
- If you clicked the link or entered any details, call CommBank on 13 2221 immediately.
Where to report it
- Send a screenshot of the text to hoax@cba.com.au.
- Report it to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.
