NAB Payment Alert Email Scam: 'Call Us and Quote Your Tracking Code'

NAB-branded emails claim unauthorised payments were attempted on your account and tell you to call a number with a tracking code or click a link to approve.
What the scam looks like
Scammers are sending emails with NAB branding that say someone tried to make unauthorised payments from your account. The email tells you to call a phone number and quote a tracking code, or to click a link to approve or stop the payment.
The number connects you to scammers pretending to be NAB, who then try to get your details or convince you to move money.
What to watch out for
- An email about suspicious payments that asks you to call a number it provides.
- A “tracking code” or reference number meant to make it feel official.
- Urgency: you’re told to act immediately to stop a payment.
What to do
- Don’t call the number or click the link. Don’t agree to transfer any money.
- If you’re worried about your account, check it in the NAB app or call NAB on 13 22 65, a number you find yourself.
- NAB will never ask you to move money to another account to keep it safe.
Where to report it
- Forward the email to phish@nab.com.au, then delete it.
- Report it to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.
