Australia Post Redelivery Fee Scam: Texts Asking You to Pay to Rebook

Reported July 2026

Scam texts say a small fee is needed to arrange redelivery of your parcel and link to a fake payment page. Australia Post doesn't ask for redelivery fees by text.

What the scam looks like

Scam text messages claim your parcel couldn’t be delivered and that you need to pay a small fee to arrange redelivery. The link goes to a fake payment page that looks like Australia Post, built to steal your card and personal details.

The fee is kept small so it doesn’t feel like a big risk. The real aim is your card details.

What to watch out for

  • Any text asking you to pay to have a parcel delivered or redelivered. Australia Post says it doesn’t request payment this way.
  • A suspicious web address that isn’t auspost.com.au.
  • A deadline, such as your parcel being returned if you don’t pay within 24 or 48 hours.

What to do

  • Don’t click the link or pay anything.
  • Track parcels in the AusPost app or by typing auspost.com.au into your browser.
  • If you entered card details, call your bank immediately to block the card.

Where to report it

  • Email a screenshot to scams@auspost.com.au.
  • Use Report Junk (iPhone) or Report spam (Android) in your messaging app.
  • Report it to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.
